KOTA KINABALU: Volvo’s safest and most stunning car ever to date, the Volvo XC60 crossover – is set to make a grand entrance in Borneo with Angkatan Hebat’s partnership with Volvo Car Malaysia.

Starting today, the people of Sabah would be able to see, test drive and purchase Volvo’s latest beauty on display at 1Borneo Atrium, said Angkatan Hebat Sdn. Bhd. Group Executive Director Datuk Henry Hing.

Considered a “Perfect 10” by the Swedish car maker, the XC60 is reinforcing Volvo’s leadership in automotive safety and enhancing its appeal as a producer of beautifully designed cars.

With the XC60, Volvo is introducing City Safety – a world’s first unique safety technology to help avoid low-speed collisions in city traffic. At speeds of up to 30km/h, City Safety automatically slows the XC60 to avoid a collision entirely or reduces the impact, to avoid serious injury.

City Safety is a standard feature in the new Volvo XC60. And together with the recently introduced Collision Warning with Auto Brake, this means that Volvo Can now offer functions for auto-braking at all speeds (Standard in the LE version).

The XC60 also signals Volvo Car Corporation’s new interpretation of its design DNA.

With the XC60, Volvo has injected more expression and more emotion in the design of the car, so that it would be instantly recognizable and desired.

This has led to a fantastic response of the XC60, not only in Sweden or Europe, but around the world. Due to the great reception of the car, Volvo is currently facing a worldwide shortage due to the demand which is beyond its expectations.

For the Malaysian market, Volvo Car Malaysia has brought in 2 fully imported variants, six cylinder turbocharged T6 engine producing 285 horsepower. All Wheel Drive (AWD) with Instant Traction is fitted as standard on all variants, as is the City Safety feature.

Priced at RM364,000 (OTR, without insurance) for the XC60 T6 LE, and RM334,000 (OTR, without insurance) for the XC60 T6 SE.

Apart from the XC60, the other SUV that is available to Sabahans is the XC90 2.5T and D5, the diesel variant.

Priced at RM359,000, the XC90 is a seven seater and is Malaysia’s all-time best selling luxury SUV.
