More than 80 ministries and departments from the State government are competing in the Angkatan Hebat Sdn. Bhd. (AHSB) Best Maintained Vehicles Award 2009 held at 1Borneo Grand Ballroom on July 18.
The contenders for the awards are vehicles leased out to the State Government departments and ministries.
Finance Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Hj Yusof Datuk Seri Panglima Hj. Kassim will officiate the prize presentation.
The theme of this year event is “Maintaining a Culture of Excellence” adopted by AHSB because it reflects its corporate principles and aspirations in upholding the importance of quality, ensuring safety for the users of its vehicles and training for the drivers of its rental vehicles.
As an ISO-certified and award-winning fleet management of service provider, AHSB will continue to deliver its service and provide safe vehicles to all its customers.
The objectives of the award are aimed to reduce maintenance cost, minimise abuse of government vehicles as well as to promote good road mannerism and road safety among more than 1,000 government drivers in the State.
The biennial award programme is also creating a healthy competition among the state ministries, departments and the drivers in the maintenance of their vehicles.
The vehicles will be evaluated based on their maintenance and service track record, physical and mechanical condition, and current road worthiness as well as whether they are accident free and free from police and traffic summonses.
Inspection for all the vehicles is to be assessed by six panels of judges.
AHSB has lined up more than RM70,000 prizes to be won among the contenders.
The Best Maintained Vehicles Awards for 2007-2009 consists of two categories. The categories are Station Wagon – Toyota Fortuner/ Ford Everest and Double Cabin – Toyota Hilux Vigo/ Nissan Frontier.
First prize winner from each category will win of RM8,000 while the second and third winners will take home RM6,000 and RM4,000 respectively. The fourth prize will win RM2000 each. Ten consolation prizes worth of RM500 each will also be given for each category.
AHSB has also prepared more than 40 lucky prizes for participants to be won during the prize presentation.
